Periwig Consultants, Cardiff Periwig Consultants opened in Cardiff in 2004. We specialise in providing wigs and hairpieces for people experiencing both short-term and long-term hair loss.

We understand that losing your hair can have a significant impact on your life. Many people feel they lose their identity when they lose their hair. Many lose their confidence and no longer feel able to do the things they used to. Even simple things like going out on a windy day can become stressful.

We can help you be yourself again and live your life with confidence.

We can show you how you can wear a wig and do all the things you enjoy.

Perhaps you are choosing to wear a wig for peronsal reasons. Or for religious reasons. Or simply to try out a new look or dress up for a special occassion.

Links with the NHS

Periwig Consultants has strong links with the NHS. We are an NHS (Wales) approved supplier. Patients from Velindre NHS Trust, Cardiff and the Vale Health Board, Cwm Taf Health Board, Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board, Hywel Dda Health Board and Powys Teaching Health Board will be referred to us.

We also do presentations to NHS staff, helping them to understand the emotional as well as the physical impact that hair loss can have. We work with nurses to help make the best possible solution available to patients at the best possible time.

The Periwig Team

Periwig Consultants are led by Michelle Taylor, one of the founders of the company. Michelle has many years of experience supplying wigs and supporting people dealing with hair loss or personal identity concerns.

Michelle is supported by a team of freelance consultants, some of whom have experienced hair loss themselves. All are trained to the same exacting standards of customer care and have experience in providing personal support to people at difficult times.

Freedom Hair at Periwig Consultants

Periwig Consultants are the only suppliers of Freedom Hair wigs in Wales and the South West of England. We are one of only four Freedom Hair suppliers in the UK.

Freedom Hair wigs are designed for people with alopecia totalis or univeralis. They are made from 100% human hair that has not been treated in any way. Due to their soft silicone cap, made from a mould of your own head, they provide a perfect fit that will not dislodge or come off accidentally.

I was visiting Michelle to learn more about Periwig Consultants and what they do. Tracey, one of Michelle’s customers, rang and asked if she could collect her new wig. Michelle explained that I was there but Tracey was happy to call in anyway. Michelle immediately stopped what we were doing and got the wig and all the paperwork ready.

It was a quick and simple transaction but as she left Tracey stopped and hugged Michelle. That is how Periwig Consultants make you feel. Warm and cared for in the best possible way.
